Only young people who have received an SMS go for the vaccine
Chief Minister Rupani clarified that out of the youths who have registered online on the portal cowin.gov.in, only the youths from these ten districts will get SMS, and on the date, place and time indicated in the SMS they will have to go to the center and get vaccinated. Online registration is mandatory for vaccination. There is no on-site registration so only those who have registered online and have received an SMS will go for the vaccine. Vaccination is going on very smoothly in Gujarat. So it remains to be seen whether there will be any disturbance in this operation.
As on April 29, the state had only 4.62 lakh doses of vaccine available, with Uttar Pradesh topping the list with 11.80 lakh doses and Gujarat topping the list with 4.62 lakh doses.
1.20 crore vaccination in Gujarat
As far as Gujarat is concerned, a total of 97,78,790 people have been vaccinated for the first dose while 22,67,033 people have been vaccinated for the second dose till 7 am on April 29. Thus, a total of 1,20,54,863 vaccination doses have been given. Maharashtra tops the list with 1.55 crore doses, followed by Rajasthan with 1.28 doses, Uttar Pradesh with 1.21 doses, Gujarat with 1.20 doses and West Bengal with 1.06 crore doses.
